Sound
Barrier was contacted by the owners of a free standing Californian Bungalow
looking to reduce the noise from busy Strathallen Ave. Consideration was given
not only to the high acoustic ratings required but also that the design of the
windows not detract from the period architectural style of this 1920's
property. Sound Barrier designed, supplied and installed full replacement
custom cedar framed windows and doors, glazed with acoustic double-glazing and
fitted with high quality acoustic seals. Sound Barrier completed all the
associated works including replacement of internal sills and architraves
and patching of cement render. So that upon completion new windows and
doors were provided that looked identical to those that they replaced but
the rooms were now quiet and insulated from the buses, trucks and cars from
this busy thoroughfare. The owners were so impressed with the result and
workmanship that Sound Barriers' affiliated building division was contracted
to complete a major renovation and extension project, which was also completed
on time and budget.
