Australian Film, Television and Radio School Project

AFTRS is Australia's national screen arts and broadcast school and is the leading institution of its kind in Australia where students learn the skills required to build careers in the screen and broadcast industries. Sound Barrier Systems fabricated and installed high performance recording, broadcast and film projection room windows throughout the new state of the art complex located at the Entertainment Quarter adjacent to Fox Studios at Moore Park.

The window specification consisted of double and triple acoustically isolated MDF frames, glazed with high performance angled glass with silica packs and perforated metal sheeting. The acoustic performance of these detailed and complex windows was paramount to the overall success of the $45m AFTRS construction project. Sound Barrier Systems were chosen as a supplier due to the unique skills of our qualified personnel and track record of providing the highest quality acoustically designed window systems in Australia.
